# Cookie Policy

Last updated November 3, 2026

This page lists the cookies apitraffic.io sets in your browser, and why. Analytics cookies are off until you allow them, and you can change your mind at any time.

## Your preferences

Change your preferences at any time with Cookie settings at the bottom of every page of apitraffic.io.

## Strictly necessary

These keep the site working, so they are always on. None of them is used for analytics or advertising.

| Cookie | Provider | Purpose | Kept for |
| --- | --- | --- | --- |
| `apitraffic_consent` | apitraffic.io | Remembers your cookie preferences so we do not ask on every page. Holds your choice and when you made it, nothing else. | 6 months |

## Analytics

Set only if you allow analytics. Advertising features, ad personalisation and Google signals are off.

| Cookie | Provider | Purpose | Kept for |
| --- | --- | --- | --- |
| `_ga` | Google Analytics | Tells one visit from the next, so we can see which pages, docs and buttons are useful. | 2 years |
| `_ga_<id>` | Google Analytics | Keeps the state of the current visit for our Google Analytics property. | 2 years |

Until you choose, Google Analytics runs in consent mode: it can count a page view without setting or reading a cookie, so nothing that identifies your browser is stored. If you reject analytics, or withdraw an earlier yes, Google Analytics sends nothing and its cookies are deleted.

Your preferences are kept for six months. Safari keeps cookies set by a page for at most seven days, so on Safari you may be asked again after a week away from the site.

If your browser sends a Global Privacy Control or Do Not Track signal, we treat it as a no: Google Analytics is not loaded at all, whatever your preferences say.

## Embedded content

Videos in the documentation are embedded from youtube-nocookie.com, YouTube's privacy-enhanced mode, which YouTube says does not store cookies until you play a video.

## More about your data

What we collect and who we share it with is in the [privacy policy](/privacy). Questions about this page go to [support@apitraffic.io](mailto:support@apitraffic.io).
